Quilting Mayhem Turns 10!

From Mindy:

Wow, 10 years of Quilting Mayhem! I’m overwhelmed as I look back on how far we’ve come since opening our doors May 1, 2015. What started as a small dream has grown into something beyond what I ever imagined, and it’s all thanks to you, our amazing community of Mayhem Makers.

When we first opened on 1st Street, we were a cozy 3,000-square-foot shop with a modest fabric selection, one classroom, and a longarm rental station. Fast forward to today, and oh, how things have changed! Through challenges (yes, that global event), we kept stitching on. We added online classes, curbside pickup, and even yarn to our offerings, because we’re always up for more Mayhem!

Celebrating 10 Years in Style

Our recent anniversary party was everything I hoped for and more. We had an Open Sew Day where 40 of us spent the day sewing, laughing, and making memories with us. But we certainly did more than that with more of you! First things first, we had to feed the hungry quilters! We brought in a food truck so everyone could keep sewing. We brought in cool extras like permanent jewelry, scissor sharpening, a masseuse, and even special flash tattoos by Black Opal Tattoos. And every party needs cake! Of course we had special Quilting Mayhem cupcakes on hand to hand out for everyone to celebrate.

What’s Next? More Mayhem, Of Course!

As we look ahead, I’m excited for all the new plans we have for Quilting Mayhem. We’re going to have new sewing and yarn events with things like knit nights. We’re finding new fabric for you and looking for indie designers to bring in different styles. But none of this would exist without your support, creativity, and shared love of making. Whether you’ve been here since Day 1 or just walked in last week, you’re part of the Mayhem family. Here’s to the next decade of quilting, community, and maybe a few more squirrels!
